Immigration Platform

A comprehensive immigration policy is economically beneficial to the nation. A sound immigration policy expands labor force participation and productivity, results in higher wages and consumer spending, strengthens government revenues, builds a sustainable and predictable workforce and better aligns worker skills with economic needs.

The Restoration Party adopts the key provisions of H.R. 3194, also known as the U.S. Citizenship Act, a bi-partisan bill introduced in the 2023-24 U.S. Congress to meet those economic goals.

The key provisions are the following*:

  • Path to Citizenship: Establishes "Lawful Prospective Immigrant" status for those present since January 1, 2023, leading to permanent residency after five years.

  • Immediate Green Cards: Offers direct permanent residency for "Dreamers," TPS/DED recipients, and qualifying agricultural workers.

  • Family Unity: Includes provisions to recapture unused family-based visas.

  • Border Management: Proposes using technology for border security and addressing root causes of migration.

  • Terminology Change: Replaces "alien" with "noncitizen" in statutes.

In addition to these provisions, The Restoration Party will streamline the administrative processes to improve the timeliness to applicants seeking status in the U.S. The primary focus is attracting those that will enhance the nation’s economy by complementing its needs in the areas that are not limited to agriculture, technology, research and education. Private and public sectors in identified areas will inform immigration policy and practices to sustain the economy in key sectors. The policies will complement, not replace the U.S. citizen workforce.
